Scheels is thrilled to announce a retail shopping experience to open in the summer of 2011. Scheels is looking forward to anchoring the Legacy Pointe Town Center, located in the Land of Lincoln – Springfield, Illinois.

Springfield’s 203,000 square foot Scheels retail shopping experience will showcase Illinois’ largest selection of sports, sportswear, and footwear under one roof. Unlike a typical sporting goods store or department store, the new Springfield Scheels will be a collection of entertainment venues, as well as women’s, men’s, youth, specialty, and sport and game shops. Brand-name concept shops by Nike, Adidas, Columbia, and The North Face will keep you active in any season. Each shop will be staffed with experts who are passionate about their sports.

Special attractions will include eight life-like bronze sculptures; a 16,000 gallon aquarium at each entrance; a 65 foot, 16 car operating Ferris Wheel; a Home Décor and Gift Lodge; a shooting gallery; and simulators for everything from golf, to baseball and hockey, where customers can test their skills. A deli and fudge shop will serve gourmet soups and sandwiches, Starbucks® coffee, and 24 flavors of homemade fudge. The Walk of Presidents and many more amenities will make this shopping adventure unlike anything the Springfield retail customer has ever experienced.

The Scheels in Springfield will feature boutiques ranging from technical running gear and the latest fashion sportswear to spectacular hunting and fishing shops. The sport shoe, hiking boot, and casual footwear selection will be the largest in Illinois with everything for toddlers to serious climbers, with selections ranging from beach sandals to fashion boots for women. Outdoor enthusiasts will experience world-class shops including golf, bike, ski, whitewater, and sport and game shops. The gun and hunting shops will have the largest retail selection of guns in the State of Illinois, ranging from everyday shooters, to collectible guns valued at $20,000.

Scheels stores offer a complete Service Shop with services ranging from bike repairs and skate sharpening to ski/board waxing and racquet stringing. Each Scheels store has an in-house service technician team to get your gear ready for the season. Our Barnett-certified technicians have received the best bike mechanic training in the industry.

Several shops will feature Scheels Outfitters products. Since its conception in 1902, Scheels Outfitters, a premium brand of Scheels, has outfitted the outdoors enthusiast with everything from camping equipment to hunting clothing. Designed for field experts, by Scheels Experts, Scheels Outfitters is a premium brand that is exclusive to Scheels.
